The Alpes de Haute Provence way of life
Health, nature, culture, quality of life, exceptional scenery, etc. make tourism a key strategic sector for the department.
Tourism is an activity which creates jobs, income and added value for the other economic sectors.
It thus has a considerable role in the development of the territory of the Alpes de Haute Provence.
A highly active departmental policy is led in favour of tourism service providers: controlled development of outdoor sports, assistance for the development of cycle-tourism and generally speaking soft travel, modernisation of tourist accommodation, assistance for the diversification of mountain resorts, assistance for quality approaches and tourist innovation and support for promotional events.
